ENGLISH THAI ADVANCED SEARCH LoginFAQ งานตรวจสอบภายใน VISITOR 29068400 Visitors Counter หน้าแรก News AMLO in Collaboration with Binance Conducts First Digital Asset Security & Regulatory Workshop for Thai Government Agencies UPDATE 01 ธ.ค. 2565 Bangkok, 1 December 2022 – Binance, the world’s leading blockchain ecosystem and cryptocurrency infrastructure provider, has organized a Global Law Enforcement Training Program to provide operational guidelines on how to combat cyber and financial crimes for three Thai government agencies, namely the Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO), the Royal Thai Police, and the Department of Special Investigation (DSI). This workshop will be held between November 30 and December 1, 2022. The workshop will be led by Jarek Jakubcek, Binance APAC Head of Intelligence and Investigations. Over the past year, Binance Investigations team has conducted and participated in more than 30 anti-cyber and financial crimes workshops with law enforcement in various countries including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Israel, Netherlands, Philippines, Sweden, South Korea, the UK among others. However, this is the first time that the team has organized such a workshop for Thai authorities. The program is designed to support authorities informed response to the fast-growing crypto industry. The two-day training includes in-person workshops on the fundamental concepts of blockchain and crypto assets, as well as insight into the evolving legal and regulatory environment in which they operate. The anti-money laundering (AML) policies and investigative methods developed by Binance to detect and prevent criminal behaviors are also discussed in detail. Jarek Jakubcek, Binance APAC Head of Intelligence and Investigations said at the opening session that "In my experience, it is practically impossible to become a good cryptocurrency investigator if one is not aware of the basics. It is essential for investigators to experience cryptocurrency transactions as it will foster better understanding on the formations of the industry. Each country has different perspectives on cryptocurrency regulation and compliance. At Binance, we aim to work closely with the relevant authorities to help investigators understand the fundamental knowledge and the principles of cryptocurrency to protect users, including in Thailand." Digital-asset regulatory frameworks have now been evolving in response to the respective contexts of each region. Although constant changes have posed a challenge, Binance has also recognized that the evolution are giving opportunities for us to understand the impacts that each different regulatory approach has on the overall industry. Binance’s workshops on the suppression of cyber and financial crimes resonate with the determination to work alongside government agencies in the formulation of regulatory frameworks on digital assets to foster a strong and transparent ecosystem for the industry.
