ENGLISH THAI ADVANCED SEARCH LoginFAQ งานตรวจสอบภายใน VISITOR 29108619 Visitors Counter หน้าแรก News The meeting of the Steering Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Action Plan UPDATE 15 ธ.ค. 2563 On 27 November 2020, Mr.Wissanu Krea-ngam, Deputy Prime Minister chaired the meeting of the Steering Committee for Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Action Plan. The meeting acknowledged the progress of the drafting of laws on beneficial owner of legal persons and legal arrangements and the law on Thai and international non-profit organizations, including other activities under the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Strategies (AML/CFT Strategy) at Meeting Room 301, Command Building 1, Government House. The Committee considered and approved the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Action plan for 2021 which consists of 8 strategies i.e., 1. Mechanisms for the protection of financial institutions and designated non-financial businesses and professions 2. The system for the protection of non-profit organization and legal persons 3. The improvement of financial intelligence work 4. Coordination for law enforcement and assets forfeiture 5. The improvement of criminal prosecution for money laundering and terrorist financing offense 6. Cooperative network and Strategic Partnership 7. The improvement of management system in accordance with international standards and 8. The use of technological innovations to support operations. In 2021, 6 relevant agencies was added as follows: Department of Foreign Trade, National Intelligence Agency, Ministry of Social Development and Human Security, National Office of Buddhism, Internal Security Operations Command and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and also considers the re-rating of 5 recommendations of the AML/CFT International Standards which will be submitted to the Asia Pacific Group on Money Laundering (APG) in 2021 and will result in moving Thailand to Regular Follow-up Group (a group of jurisdictions with good compliance with AML/CFT international standards).
