On 15 March 2023, at 9.00 hrs., Mr. Kamonsit Wongbutnoi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Anti-Money Laundering Board, on behalf of the Secretary-General, delivered a keynote address during the opening ceremony of the UNODC High-Level meeting on “The impact of transnational organized crime and money laundering on the gaming sector and special economic zones (SEZs)” at the United Nations Conference Center, Bangkok. Other distinguished speakers were H.E. Dr. Angela Macdonald PSM, Australian Ambassador to Thailand and Ms.Annika Wythes, UN Regional Anti-Corruption Advisor, as well as Mr. Fabrizio Fioroni, UN AML/CFT Advisor. Also at the meeting, Ms. Supranee Satitchaicharoen, Director of Cooperation and Standard Development Division, Anti-Money Laundering Office (AMLO) was a panelist on the topic “Anti-money laundering frameworks in Thailand, Lao PRD, Cambodia and Vietnam”. Participants were Cambodian, Lao and Vietnamese delegations including the Thai delegation from AMLO, the Office of the Attorney General, the Eastern Economic Corridor Office and the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council.
