Announcement on resolution of Transaction Committee’s 4/2566 meeting, additional freezing of 33 million assets of major online gambling network.

On 5 April 2023, Mr. Theppasu Bovornchotidara, Secretary-General of Anti-Money Laundering Board announced that the Transaction Committee (TC) ’s 4/2566 meeting, on 4 April 2023, decided on major cases that are in the public’s interest such as

In the case of Mr. Phumiphat and associates (Aum PSV), website www.ufa24h.net which is the case of online gambling under Section 3 (9) and money laundering offence under Section 5 of the Anti-Money Laundering Act B.E. 2542 (1999), the TC decided to temporarily freeze additional 1 item of assets connected with the commission of the offence, i.e., land with building, with fruits, value about 33 million baht, for not exceeding than 90 days from the date of the TC’s resolution.

In the same case, there were 2 TC’s resolutions to temporarily seize and freeze assets, 137 items in total, being cash, foreign currency, lands with buildings, bank accounts, and digital assets accounts, with total value of over 500 million baht.

Mr. Theppasu, added that there are many cases currently under examination and investigation for the seizure and freezing of assets connected with the commission of offences that could effectively break the criminal cycle relating to predicate offences and deprive the offenders of their financial gain.
